                                                                  Bangalore,India

Hallooo!So this'll be my first attempt in blogging about travelling-my travels.I've always wanted to make a blog dedicated solely to travelling, but never made a real attempt to do one.But by then I realised my scope of interests widened within the years-hence my Passionate Me blog!
       I love love love to travel.One of the many reasons I try to save my money is so that I can travel to more countries if I'd ever get the chance to!Being a student,it's a great time to go on travels ,be it in a group or if you're more independent-alone:)I've yet to travel somewhere far,like abroad alone-which I'm dying to try!Still waiting for green lights from both of my parents-gotta gain their trust!No,coming to study here in India is not considered travelling alone since I came here with my batch mates!I'm craving for a more spontaneous lone-ranger kinda travelling experience to test my limits.I'm an expert in being alone:D, since I've once stayed in a house alone in Bangalore for almost a year & a half.
        It'd be exciting if I could write on about my travels alone but I haven't had a chance to do so,except for trips to various malls,street markets,restaurants etc alone :p around Bangalore,which I find pleasure in!So instead of that,today I'll write on some of my travels to a few places I've managed to visit whilst I've been in India since May 2012.First of all,I've only managed to go to three main places that're Bangalore,Manipal & Goa.Unlike some of my friends,I've been to less places in India compared to them.This,I blame my feeling of home sickness:p I was homesick for the whole of my first year there.So for every holiday I get, back then, I'd get myself flight tickets back home to Malaysia instead of travelling around India.Kind of regretted that one part but I got better during my second year so I spent less time dreaming about my made up magical airway routes back home to Malaysia :p
        At first,when I knew I'd be going to India to do my MBBS,I was excited,coz one of the countries of my choice to study MBBS  was in India next to Czech Republic & Russia:) But nearing to the date that I'd actually be flying there,it was too surreal & a bit hard to handle.The idea of leaving my family behind again kind of scared me since I've gone through that once when I went to boarding school.Hence the crying & all the drama at KLIA airport the night I was leaving-which still "haunts" me sometimes:pTo think about it again it makes me laugh-guess I'm still a family girl at heart hee.With this, I landed in India with a super bad mood = home sickness for the whole first year hahax.Ok enough of homesickness talk!
        I started exploring more of Bangalore in my second year.Mostly to malls,restaurants,street markets etc.My favourite malls there would be One MG mall ,Mantri mall(great for groceries hunting)& Orion mall(some of my friends claim they bump into local movie stars here!) .I'd also go to their street markets,one of the famous ones being Commercial Street which's about 5 minutes away,by auto.( motored "trickshaw" service they have there)Usually go there to get myself nice,affordable saree silks.For the very first holiday we got during first year,before going back to Malaysia,I'd go here to buy key chains in bulk with fridge magnets.They even have little cute Kashmir shops,selling shawls which my mom,sisters & I love-coz of their good quality.Kashmir is famous for it's fabrics:)I wished I'd have the pictures for some of these places in Bangalore.But I think I've somehow adopted a local person's mindset there-thinking that I'm already living there so I won't have a need to take pictures of the places there.The only time I've ever acted all touristy in Bangalore was when my mom,dad & little sister came to visit.My dad came separately but we didn't go around anywhere much since it was during the study week for my Professional 1 exam.But my dad did get a chance to go to Chennai to meet up with his friend there-but I didn't follow T.T.But then my mom & sister came,I got to bring them around properly this time.I brought them to the malls,restaurants I usually go, plus to Commercial Street-which got us into shopping mode!A more unusual thing I did with them was to have visited the Bangalore Palace.The outer look of it looked beautiful with the creeping plant on the walls.But the inside was a little disappointing & the maintenance was a little disappointing.But all-in-all it was an unique & quite informative experience & was actually glad to bring them both around  somewhere else there, instead of just to malls & restaurants!Maybe it's bcoz of my bad research on Bangalore that I didn't get to bring them to more places.So in the future I'll be more adventurous in manoeuvring my way around Bangalore & erase that "locals' " mindset whilst I do so.Next time I'll be posting on my trips to other places in India & other places I've been to with my family.Here are some of the pics I took of Bangalore;

Amsterdam,Netherlands + Brugge,Belgium(Spring 2013)

Hi all!I had a chance to visit The Netherlands spring last year.And it was AMAZING -the views,the people etc.Together with my family,we stayed there for 7 days.Around the third day we had a one day visit to Brugge,Belgium.I was a little disappointed since there weren't many halal restaurants there,so we couldn't really get to taste any of both countries' authentic,traditional food.But there were quite a lot Arabic restaurants there,so we went there instead. One thing's for sure,the waffles in Brugge were to die for!They look like any normal waffles that you can get anywhere,but the taste is definitely different.Besides waffles Belgium's also famous for its chocolates!Since we couldn't really eat at the restaurants there we mostly went to supermarkets or convenience stores to get food or snacks.I especially love the waffles-not those soft ,fresh ones.Instead they're like cookies-thin layers of waffle cookies,in between them having caramel or something like it.I didn't bother to know what it really was-just know that they're yum yummy!You can get them real cheap especially at the convenience stores they have in their subway stations-which I thought was super smart.Ok this' starting to sound like a food show:p Anyways here are some of the places we visited!
